ANCOP Thailand Walk for a Cause 2021ANCOP Thailand (ANCOP-TH) organized a virtual (due to Covid physical restriction) walk to Witness God’s Wonders during the month of December 2021 with a registration fee of Baht 250 per person. There were 27 groups/individuals who registered and participated in the walk with their photos and videos being posted on Facebook with #AncopThailand2021 and #WitnessGodsWonders2021. Despite the pandemic, the fundraising event received a total of Baht 30,100 from generous participants. This amount will be used to support CFC's Child Sponsorship Program (CSP) intended for qualified students from the members of our community CFC-Thailand.
ANCOP-TH started this CSP in July 2021 with six (6) qualified students from the members of CFC North Bangkok (including Korat) and Nonthaburi Chapters with each student receiving Baht 10,000. Aside from CSP, ANCOP-TH was also able to provide financial assistance to flood victims in Luzon (Philippines) in 2020 as part of its Humanitarian Relief Program. All these programs were made possible because of the generous support received during the previous ANCOP activities namely virtual “Walk for Love 2020” and physical “Global Walk 2019”, plus the special pledge of monthly contributions from a few of our extra-generous members. May God bless you abundantly. As St. Paul says in Act.20:35 ““In all this I have given you an example that by such work we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” First online CLP in Thailand concludesCFC-Nonthaburi Chapter concluded an 8-Sunday online CLP conducted from 5 September to 24 October 2021 via Zoom with a physical dedication ceremony held on 31 October at the St. Christina Retreat House, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Pakkret, Nonthaburi. Initiating a major relief effort for Typhoon Odette (Rai) victimsDear brothers and sisters,
As you are aware, the Philippines was hit by super Typhoon Odette (Rai) on 16 December 2021 causing widespread devastation in many provinces and islands in the Visayas and northern Mindanao. Many of our members have families affected by the disaster and are in need of our material and spiritual support. In this connection, we are launching a major relief effort for victims of the disaster in partnership with local organizations, including CFC communities, currently working on the ground. We have already identified some potential local partners who have sufficient capacities to deliver relief goods urgently to the affected areas. The first relief effort is scheduled for Sunday, 26 December in the affected communities in Surigao del Norte. We will provide update of this effort once it is completed. At the same time, we would want to ensure that our brethren are also provided with financial support to enable them to help their suffering families. Offer of financial support for members CFC Thailand provides one-time financial support of Baht 3,500 (or Pesos 5,000) per member (CFC and its family ministries) to those whose families have been directly affected by the disaster and are in need of financial help. The truth is that a sinner can turn into a saint by God's grace. The theme talk was delivered by Brod Reggie Ragojos, CFC President, and followed by a directional talk by Bong Arjonillio. They appreciated the support and hospitality of the country coordinators, Raffy and Amie, for facilitating their participation and introducing them to many brothers and sisters in the community.
